Vegan Jackfruit Smoothie (Sinh To Mit)
This recipe is a vegan take on the classic Vietnamese jackfruit smoothie.
The Vietnamese jackfruit smoothie is the lesser known cousin of the famous Vietnamese avocado smoothie. Both use the same 3 ingredients to showcase the delicious fruits in a creamy concoction.
The smoothie is refreshing and tropical. Taste and savour the exotic fruity flavour of jackfruit, often described as a sweet combination of mango, apple and pineapple.
- Dietary: dairy-free, lactose-free, nut-free
- Prep Time: 0 mins
- Cook Time: 5 mins
- Total Time: 5 mins
- 1 can of jackfruit in water or syrup, drained
- 1/3 cup soy milk
- Cubes of ice
- 1/4 cup condensed soy milk
- Blend jackfruit, soy milk and ice together for 3 minutes or until a smooth and thick consistency*.
- Add in condensed soy milk and blend. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Pour out into a cup and enjoy!
*Thicken up the smoothie by adding more ice. Thin out the smoothie by increasing the amount of soy milk.

Jackfruit is a fruit and so will naturally have high levels of carbohydrates in the form of sugars. A lot of people shy away from this as they are worried about their sugar intake. However, it’s important to know that natural sugars found in fruits, like jackfruit, is quite different to processed and refined sugars that you should be worrying about.
Furthermore, when you eat jackfruit, you are also ingesting it’s many antioxidants and phytosterols. Compounds such as carotenoids and flavanones have been shown to reduce inflammation and prevent chronic diseases.
This tropical fruit is a rich source of vitamin B6 and vitamin C. It also has moderate amounts of potassium and magnesium.
Overall, eating fruit is part of a healthy and balanced diet. It’s also interesting to try new exotic fruits such as jackfruit to keep your tastebuds entertained!
